Greenway Lane

Context

In response to a demand for affordable homes for local people, Clinton Devon Estates released land at Greenway Lane, Budleigh Salterton for high quality affordable and open market homes scheme with improved and additional allotment space.

Following consultation with the local community, the Town Council and allotment gardeners, LHC Architecture produced designs for a 48 home scheme, 40 percent of which have been designated affordable housing for local people.  The town’s allotment provision has been increased to 87 plots, which has helped to reduce a long waiting list.

The Torquay-based homebuilder Cavanna Homes www.cavannahomes.co.uk were chosen as joint venture partners with Clinton Devon Estates to build the new homes. Exeter-based Cornerstone Housing www.cornerstonehousing.net are managing the affordable housing.
